Report: Gander Mountain Preparing Bankruptcy Filing


The outdoor retail chain could file for bankruptcy as early as this month, according to Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter. It has retained financial advisory firm Lighthouse Management Group Inc and law firm Fredrikson & Byron PA, the report said. Gander Mountain is based in St. Paul, MN, and was taken private in 2010 by its CEO David Pratt backed by gas-station chain Holiday Stationstores. The chain came in at #19 on SGI’s list of largest sporting goods retailers with annual sales estimated at $1,668 million in 2015, operating 162 stores averaging about 46,000 sq. ft. Its ...
