Participation Rates Generally Stable


Overall levels of participation over recent years are relatively unchanged although the frequency of activity continues to trend downward. The report also observed that Gen X is moving to a slightly more active lifestyle while the aging Baby Boomer generation is becoming less active. And while fitness activity participation remains high at all age group levels, the data suggests that outdoor activities are also generating more participants than in the past.
