Omicron Variant Drives Inflation Concerns, Trade Show Changes


The Omicron variant continues to wreak havoc across the globe, as the mutation now represents 95% of Covid cases in the U.S. at year end, while the once-dominate Delta variant has dwindled to less than 5% of reported cases. While Omicron is highly transmissible, its effects can be mild for those fully vaccinated. The National Retail Federation does not expect the increase in cases will lead to lockdowns, though it is still very concerned about demand-driven inflation.
