One of the pioneers of the American ski business, John Fry died Jan. 24 of an apparent stroke while floating in quiet waters off a beach in Puerto Rico. He had turned 90 two days earlier. Fry was the long-time editor of Ski Magazine and its sister publication, Ski Business, where he was executive editor from 1963 until it was acquired by the Times Mirror Company.
