NRF Study Details Tariff Impact on Consumers
As hearings continue on the List 4 Chinese tariffs, the National Retail Federation released a study that concluded the imposition of 25% additional duties would cost Americans $4.4 billion more for apparel, $2.5 billion more for footwear, $3.7 billion more for toys and $1.6 billion more for household appliances. Earlier, the NRF released research that said a TV made in China that cost $250 would jump to $308 after tariffs, and the 25% tariffs on furniture and travel goods would cost $6 billion annually.
