Athletic footwear and apparel retail sales declined low teens for the first six months of 2020, NPD Group reported, but there was considerable variation between the winners and losers. Nike footwear declined high-single digits in H1, and retail sales of Jordan shoes grew low-teens, but Converse was down by a third. Adidas and New Balance were both down mid-teens, the research company said, but Puma grew high-single digits.
