NCAA Scandal Update: Louisville Shakeup; Agency Raided
Yesterday’s bombshell indictment of two Adidas execs and eight coaches, managers and financial advisers on fraud and other charges resulted in more turmoil today at the University of Louisville, where men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich have been ousted, according to the Courier-Journal. Louisville was named in the indictment as “University-6.” Both Pitino and Jurich were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of forthcoming hearings, as their employment contracts give them a chance to respond prior to termination, according to the report.
