Iconix Sees Loss in Q4 on Impairment, Other Charges


The licensing company swung to a net loss of $69,077,000 in the fourth quarter from a profit of $24,744,000 last year on 18% lower revenues of $42,705,000 down from $52,299,000. As always, ICON’s bottom line came with many asterisks, and this year’s loss included a $58.7 million trademark impairment for Mossimo, Joe Boxer and Mudd against $4.1 million last year, a $2.5 million investment impairment against $16.9 million, a $4.9 million loss on termination of licenses against $2.4 million, and a $6.7 million tax charge against a $66.8 million tax benefit.
