Guns and Ammo Flying Off Shelves in Coronavirus Panic Buying


Firearms and ammunition sales are booming again, after three years in the doldrums, buoyed by fear-based demand as the coronavirus pandemic spreads. NSSF-adjusted NICS FBI background checks soared 80.4% last month to 2,375,525 from 1,317,114, and were up 41.8% year to date at 4,841,126 compared to 3,414,361. NSSF’s adjusted NICS checks back out background checks for concealed carry weapons permits and checks from active CCW permit databases to more accurately reflect gun sales.
