Designer Brands Pivots to Athleisure after Awful Q2


The bottom line tumbled to a net loss of $98,214,000 in the second quarter ended Aug. 1, from a profit of $27,407,000 prior, while revenues were down 43% to $489,714,000 from $855,952,000. U.S. retail sales, which include the DSW banner and Affiliated Business Group, were down 42% to $393,977,000 from $677,920,000. Canada retail fell 22% to $49,582,000 from $63,306,000, while Brand Portfolio dropped 70% to $30,458,000 from $102,947,000. The Other segment was down 25% to $22,266,000 against $29,480,000.
