Crocs Sees Pent-up Demand as Stores Reopen
Crocs executives touted the brand’s e-commerce success during the Covid-19 pandemic and gave an update on the progression of retail reopenings in an R.W. Baird-hosted virtual round table discussion. Its total digital business, including own e-commerce and e-tailer wholesale accounts, has seen very strong demand through the pandemic, with U.S. and EMEA e-commerce sales up significantly, and Asia also somewhat higher, with traffic and conversions both driving the growth. But international distributors, who are often thinly capitalized, have been less robust, and CROX received many cancelled orders early in Q2 as they tried to manage their inventories.
