Covid-19 Update: Sports Direct, JD Sports, Adidas, Columbia


Sports Direct, after issuing a public apology for trying to keep its stores open despite government shutdown requirements, tries to further burnish its image by saying that the management team will cut its compensation to £40,000 annually and pay the staff through April.

 

JD Sports joined the list of companies saying it will not make Q1 rent payments as its 390 U.K. stores remain closed. It has not indicated what it plans to do about its U.S. stores, which include Finish Line and a handful of JD stores.
