Net income was $5,677,000 in the first quarter up from just $36,000 a year ago, on revenues that increased 41% to $75,331,000 against $53,555,000 driven by a tripling of ammunition sales. CLAR’s Sierra ammo and component segment increased 203% to $23.5 million, including an $8.5 million contribution from Barnes, and Sierra alone was up 94% organically, as consumer demand for shooting supplies stayed very strong. Segment operating income quadrupled to $6.0 million. Black Diamond revenues increased 13% to $51.8 million, with ski up 23%, mountain up 20%, and climb up 3%, driving operating income that doubled to $3.4 million.
