China Team Exits Early After Trump Comments
A team of Chinese officials who had been scheduled to tour Midwest farms that have been hurt by the trade war headed home Friday, earlier than planned, after President Trump told reporters that the U.S. doesn’t necessarily need a deal before the 2020 Election because the U.S. economy remains strong and he is determined to get a comprehensive deal. However, the high-level talks scheduled for next month remain on track and the USTR issued a statement characterizing the two days of talks as “productive.”
