Canadian Tire Sports Group Posts Sales Gains


Sales at FGL Sports increased 4% to C$555.5 million ($443.3 mm) from C$534.8 million in Q3 and eked out a 0.4% same store sales gain against a 6.2% comp last year. Franchise revenues and organic retail sales both contributed to the gain, but higher marketing and advertising expenses this year hurt margins. Relationships with the Big Three athletic brands are very strong, and FGL banners are getting better allocations, but private label development is also a priority ...
