Camping World Loss Expands in Q4, Net Drops for FY


Although its core RV business had a solid Q4, the retail business which includes the troubled Gander Outdoor chain continued to struggle as CWH reported a loss of $30,328,000 against a loss of $15,830,000 as sales rose 11% to $982,393,000 from $887,986,000 for the final quarter ended Dec. 31. The loss included a $40.0 million impairment charge on the retail business. The retail segment, which also includes Camping World’s RV accessories business, had an 85% sales increase to $209,308,000 from $113,338,000; however comp store sales declined 3.9% in the 119 Camping World retail stores and gross margin plunged 1,395 b.p. ...
