Two Cabela’s stores located near Bass Pro stores in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, and Bristol, VA, have been closed with most of the staff and some of the merchandise consolidated into the Bass Pro stores. Bass Pro said it would expand the Chattanooga, TN, store to accommodate the closing of the Fort Oglethorpe location. Bristol, VA, a town of 18,000 near Bristol, TN, with 27,000, are located in tourist areas, but the VA town had a Cabela’s and the TN town a Bass Pro. Bass Pro said it was also expanding the Bass Pro store there.
