Bike Makers’ Sales Jump on Pandemic Demand
Following last week’s strong Q3 report from Cannondale and Schwinn owner Dorel Industries, bike makers Giant and Accell also turned in double-digit sales growth on soaring bicycle demand spurred by consumers’ frustrations with Covid-19 lockdowns. All three companies have seen investors bid up their share prices over the past six months. Giant is up 47%, Accell gained 28% and Dorel rebounded more than fourfold from lows early in the year, also helped by a recent offer to take it private.
