Biden Administration Reportedly Studying New Tariffs on Vietnam


Despite conflicting conclusions on Vietnam’s currency practices by two federal agencies, the Biden Administration is rumored to be weighing imposing tariffs on imports from Vietnam, possibly as early as the end of this month. While there has been no official word on the subject, the rumors were strong enough to provoke a letter to USTR Katherine Tai signed by 75 trade associations and industry groups, including SFIA, OIA, SIA, FDRA and NSGA. Many broader associations like AAFA, NRF and the Chamber of Commerce also signed the letter.
