Athleta Sales Growth Slows in Q3


Sales of Gap’s Other segment, which includes the Athleta, Intermix and Hill City brands, were up just 7% to $275 million from $258 million, a substantial sequential deceleration from Q2, where the segment saw sales jump 25%. GPS said the slowdown was early in the quarter, caused by lower in-store traffic and an assortment that was fall focused when shoppers were still looking for warm weather apparel, and weighted too heavily towards performance.
