Adidas, Billie Jean King Partner on Girls Sports Participation
As the U.S. Open gets under way in New York, Adidas and the women’s tennis icon initiate Here to Create Change that will seek to break down barriers that keep girls from continuing in sports. Currently, fewer than one in three girls continue to play sports after school. It looks to address issues like facilities and coaches to reverse a trend. Their research shows that by age 19, only 29% of girls will play a sport compared to 56% of boys will play a sport.
