Activists Target Sports Brands Over Forced Labor in China


A new campaign organized by labor groups is demanding that international brands ensure they are not using forced labor from the Uyghur region of China, which they say accounts for 84% of the country’s cotton supply and 20% of the world cotton supply. While it makes no specific accusations against specific brands, the group contends that 1 in 5 cotton garments in the world are tainted by forced labor.
