Nike, Under Armour and Eddie Bauer got call outs for positive results but third quarter apparel revenues were hit by unfavorable weather in key regions that impacted sales of fall assortments. The active and outdoor brands shared the spotlight with men’s and women’s dress as bright spots for apparel, with dress and polished casual now slated for a push in coming quarters. Elsewhere, the Sephora shop-in-shops, which were much contested in 2022’s proxy battle with activist investors, comped up over 30% and pushed total beauty sales to over 70% growth.
