Square footage of major sporting goods retailers will barely budge to about 163.2 million sq. ft. in 2019 from 162.5 million sq. ft in 2018, but that remains well below the 206.9 million square feet recorded in 2015 before the Sports Atrocity-led retail implosion and is just above the 161.6 million sq. ft. we found in 2017 when the industry was still seeing a series of significant bankruptcies.
