The number of indoor climbing gyms in the U.S. has grown from 220 in 2014 to 660 now and is expected to continue growing at a 20% annual rate, CLAR told the Stifel investor conference, and it intends to ride that participation trend both with climbing equipment where it already has a strong position and into a lifestyle business built around apparel and footwear.
Demand for athletic and athleisure shoes was the strongest by far in the FDRA’s Spring 2018 National Shoe Sales Survey, and 74% of respondents said they were very likely or somewhat likely to buy new shoes this spring.
The maker of various hunting accessories was sold to Sentinel Capital Partner by Huron Capital.
The Norwegian company, which now has turnover of over NOK 1 billion ($124.5 mm), changed its name to reflect its broader portfolio of products.
