The Champion brand is seen as having a $2.2 billion sales potential by 2022, and is the primary sales driver for the near-term as it focuses on the online and consumer-direct channel, parent Hanesbrands told investors at a conference it hosted.
Consolidated net income more than tripled to KRW 79,736 million ($74.3 mm) from KRW 25,539 million in the first quarter as sales increased 4% to KRW 676,917 million ($630.9 mm) from KRW 653,701 million which now includes Acushnet results in both periods.
The South American e-tailer’s loss expanded to BRL 60,337,000 ($18.6 mm) from a loss of BRL 37,717,000 in the first quarter on sales of BRL 676,917,000, up 1% from BRL 653,701,000 last year.
The Sumitomo subsidiary’s sports segment sales surged 23% to ¥20,769 million ($191.7 mm) from ¥16,840 million in the first quarter, sending operating profit up 66% to ¥1,786 million ($16.5 mm) from ¥1,074 million.
Comprehensive net income was up 25% to ¥501 million ($4.5 mm) from ¥402 million for the fiscal year ended Mar. 31 on sales that dwindled 4% to ¥37,881 million ($337.7mm) from ¥39,294 million.
