Sturm, Ruger Pulls Back In Promotional Q3


The bottom line declined by 48% in the third quarter to $4,817,000 from $9,206,000 on 17% lower sales at $94,999,000, down from $114,945,000, as RGR continues to avoid aggressive discounting despite a promotional marketplace. The company has faced the same headwinds as other firearms makers, but has seen its revenues decline despite a recovery in NSSF-adjusted NICS checks that indicate improving gun demand.
