Shoe Carnival Sees Nike Resurgence in 2019

After a year when Adidas drove athletic footwear sales at the family shoe retailer, SCVL told investors at the Jefferies Consumer Conference that it expects Nike, its largest athletic brand, to be the main sales catalyst during Back-to-School. In addition to The Big a, Puma and Vans were also called out as big contributors to athletic sales, which make up about half of Shoe Carnival’s total revenues. Elsewhere, footbed sandals have been on-trend this spring and flat sandals have been selling well.
