Zumiez’ Plans Upsell on Delivery


Zumiez is looking to retail’s past for the future of its omni-channel model while it continues to focus on breaking the traditional distributor model for its brand partners on the international front, the company outlined at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference. ZUMZ is launching a home delivery upselling plan later this year, sending extra product out with its last-mile drivers to sell customers extra items at the time of delivery. The move, taking a page from the “vacuum and encyclopedia salesmen” of yesterday, is planned to boost sales while cutting third-party delivery and packaging costs.
