The sports and lifestyle company was purchased from global luxury group Kering by Liberated Brands, a new entity minority owned by Authentic Brands, with Volcom chief Todd Hymel and its current management team taking the majority stake. ABG will manage the brand’s intellectual property rights, and the existing Volcom management will continue the development of operations based in the U.S., France, Australia and Japan. Hymel will be CEO of the new company. Terms of the deal were not revealed.
