Charging that the country is importing illegally harvested wood products into the U.S. and manipulating its currency, the U.S. Trade Representative initiated the same process that led to the imposition of tariffs on China with Vietnam, a major source for athletic footwear and apparel companies, as the target. The announcement came late on Friday and was overshadowed by the torrent of news surrounding the Administration on everything from the pandemic to the recent Presidential debate.
