USTR Finally Announces List 4A Exclusion Process
Importers can apply for exclusions of List 4A Chinese imports between Oct. 31 and Jan. 31. Those products have been subject to a 15% tariff since Sep. 1, but importers who are granted exclusions are eligible for reimbursement from that date. List 4B tariffs of 15% are still scheduled to be implemented Dec. 15. SFIA is coordinating applications for exclusions. While relatively few exemptions are granted prior to tariffs being implemented, there has historically been a higher success rate with exclusions which are applied after tariffs are in effect.
