U.S., Mexico Reach Deal to Avert Tariffs
Mexico has agreed to strengthen its Southern border against Central American immigrants and also agreed to allow migrants to the U.S. from Mexico to wait there while their cases were heard in the U.S. However, that may not be the end of the Mexican tariff threat as the U.S. has indicated that it might reinstate tariffs if the currently agreed to measures don’t stem the tide of illegal immigrants and President Trump also said the tariffs could be reinstated if the Mexican legislature doesn’t pass a treaty agreeing to make it a safe third country.
