Two Ex-Jarden Execs Exit Newell Board
Martin Franklin and Ian Ashken along with a third director, former Gucci CEO Domenico De Sole, have left the board because they are at odds with Newell’s management over the integration of the Jarden integration, according to the Wall Street Journal. Among other things, Franklin was said to have made a play for more control of the board, including naming him as chairman, because he believed that CEO Mike Polk had botched the integration of Jarden’s sprawling collection of consumer brands into Newell’s sprawling collection of brands.
