Trump Breaks Tariff Truce
While trade negotiations between the U.S. and China are still ongoing, the Administration announced a 10% tariff on $300 billion of Chinese imports to take effect on Sep. 1, hitting List 4 products that have not been included in previous tariffs. A truce between President Trump and President Xi had been in place for the last month, after the two met at the G-20 Summit in Japan, and agreed to resume negotiations, that had stalled earlier.
