Trade Talks Stalled Again Over Tariff Relief
Multiple outlets are reporting that trade talks between the U.S. and China are at an impasse over the timing of tariff relief and the scope of Chinese commitments on agricultural purchases and guarantees on IP, currency and market access. And the situation was exacerbated by Congress passing a veto-proof resolution that supports the protest movement in Hong Kong and requires the government to impose sanctions on Chinese and Hong Kong officials who violate human rights and annually review Hong Kong’s special trade status.
