Tariff Talks Threatened by Arrest of Huawei CFO
The recent thawing of trade tensions after last weekend’s dinner meeting between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping was dealt a setback by the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou in Vancouver yesterday. Huawei, a Chinese telecom giant that has close ties with that country’s government and military, is being investigated by the Justice Department for violating Iran sanctions and money laundering.
