Tariff Cuts Teased as Antidote for Inflation


The prospects for easing tariffs on Chinese goods are looking brighter as federal officials make the media rounds, though the issue is slowly working through a quagmire at the legislative level with GOP factions split and populist House Democrats leaning into protectionism. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told Bloomberg that rolling back tariffs on some Chinese products could help ease inflation, one of the key issues worrying the Biden administration heading into Nov. mid-terms.
