Super Retail Group’s Sports and Outdoor Banners Gain


Rebel Sports sales increased 4% in the fiscal year ended Jun. 29 to A$1,016.4 million ($711.8 mm) from A$979.2 million as comp store sales grew 3.3%, and EBIT was up 3% to A$93.8 million ($65.7 mm) from A$91.5 million. Apparel, footwear and fitness accessories performed well at the Australian sporting goods chain, offset by a decline in hardgoods. Rebel’s e-commerce site was refreshed at the beginning of the year, helping boost online sales 33% to 9% of the total, and SRG noted that it has been emphasizing click-and-collect (BOPUS) to help mitigate additional shipping costs for home delivery.
