State, Visit Denver Put up $3.4 Million to Land Outdoor Retailer
The state of Colorado and Visit Denver each contributed $1.7 million as an incentive package to move the Outdoor Retailer Show to Denver for the next five years, according to the Denver Post. The Colorado Economic Development Corp. approved the award, which was characterized as an unusual state involvement but justified on the grounds that the conventions would bring 20-25,000 attendees and generate $45 million in spending.
