Net income declined 16% to $5,498,000 from $6,551,000 in the second quarter ended Aug. 3 on 4% higher revenues of $211,766,000 against $203,288,000 including a comp store sales increase of 1.7%. Gross margin contracted 100 basis points to 34.6% due to a less profitable product mix, and SG&A was $4.4 million higher and increased 90 basis points as a percent of sales. BOPUS sales from the newly launched website grew 80% sequentially in Q2 after similar growth in Q1, and Q2 also saw the introduction of ship-from-store for web orders that are in stock locally.
