SportChek Sales Improve as Team Sports Resume
Revenues at Canadian Tire’s sports banner increased 3% to C$625.8 million ($496.7 mm) from C$604.8 million in the final quarter, and comps were up 15.9%, lapping last year’s store closures towards the end of the quarter. The gains came without the 18-door National Sports banner, which was shut down earlier in the year. Hockey, athletic footwear and apparel were called out as drivers, as the resumption of organized team sports powered sales.
