SportChek Revenues Drop in Q4
Sales at Canadian Tire’s main sporting goods banner declined 2% to C$604.8 million ($464.2 mm) from C$619.4 million in the final quarter and comps dropped 3.0%. Strong early Holiday sales sent comps up 5.7% through Nov., but that momentum faded when some stores were forced to close again to combat the second Covid wave. Outdoor activities including hiking, biking, skiing, outerwear and accessories performed best, growing double digits. But hockey, licensed apparel and team sports sales were weak.
