Skechers Sees U.S. Wholesale Coming Back
Skechers’ order books for domestic wholesale are looking much stronger for H2, it told an audience in a round table discussion at the Goldman Sachs investor conference, after a shaky first half in its home market, and it expects be flat or even up slightly for the full year. Off-price retailers like T.J. Maxx and Burlington in particular have recovered after a slow 2018 and are now contributing to SKX improvement. Recent bankruptcies such as Payless and other retailers’ store closings have mostly benefitted the brand’s DTC sales online and in stores, however.
