Net income attributable to owners was ¥27,718 million ($249.7 mm) against ¥18,728 million for the first half ended Jun. 30 as sales improved 7% to ¥174,731 million ($1,574.4 million) compared to ¥163,079 million. Shimano maintained its guidance for the FY for sales of ¥350 billion ($3,153.6 mm) and operating income of ¥67 billion ($603.7 mm) but upped its prediction on net income slightly to ¥49.3 billion ($442.2 mm) from ¥46.0 billion on some currency gains from the depreciation of the yen.
