Shareholder Vote Will Require AOBC to Report on Gun Safety
Like competitor Sturm, Ruger, American Outdoor Brands lost a proxy fight led by the Interfaith Group on Corporate Responsibility to issue a report to shareholders on whether it is adequately assessing the risks of its products and also on what R&D it is doing to make guns safer. While the religious group has a relatively small number of shares, it had the backing of major institutional holders such as Black Rock and Vanguard as well as the support of shareholder advisory groups like Shareholder Services and Glass Lewis.
