September Retail Imports Set New Record
The 12.5% year-over-year increase to a record 2.11 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units eclipsed Aug.’s total by 0.01 TEU and was the largest month since the NRF’s Port Tracker began tracking imports in 2002. The numbers signify retailers’ optimism for the Holiday season, as they aggressively restock following higher-than-expected consumer demand once the economy reopened over the summer.
