The second round of the previously announced elimination of 1,400 jobs was underway this week after the initial round in June. Hundreds of employees were notified this week, even as construction continued on a $1 billion expansion of the campus that was planned before the current slowdown in Nike’s U.S. sales. Most in the initial round were in product development and IT, but this round is affecting operations, sales support and customer service, according to the Oregon Business News.
