SCOTUS Declines to Hear Second Amendment Cases


There were some 10 challenges to state laws that will not be heard by the justices as they have continued their recent practice of pushing back gun rights issues to state legislatures. Since District of Columbia vs. Heller in 2008 which affirmed the right to gun ownership at home for self defense, the court has consistently declined to decide any further issues. Half the 10 challenges in this instance involved restrictions placed by states on carrying guns outside the home, two involved bans on semi-automatic rifles and three others involved narrow issues.
