Russia Updates: Puma, Under Armour and More
More sports brands moved to suspend operations and shutter retail stores in Russia, in protest of that country’s invasion of Ukraine, and in response to logistical challenges that have resulted. The latest:
- Puma closed its fleet of over 100 stores there, and has stopped shipping product into Russia, while continuing to pay salaries of retail store staff.
- Under Armour stopped all shipments into its sales channels in Russia, and pledged to work with humanitarian groups to help refugees from the crisis.
